GDM Session problems - SOLVED

Can anyone select different WM from the session list in GDM? I am using Slackware-current and GDM 2.4.4. It looks like I have the proper entries in /etc/X11/dm and all scripts are executable. No matter what I select from the list of WMs, it defaults to the xinitrc default.

Sessions-error has a message "stderr is not a tty". Never had a problem with GDM before so I was wondering if it is me or a bug in the software. Any help much appreciated.

Problem was a bad xfree86-xnest. Re-installed xfree* and everything worked.
