gcc4.3 on slackware11 ?

hi,all
the gcc4.3 is now support option "-mtue=core2", i'd like to compile kernel 2.6.20.1 for my core2 cpu, but i guess i would cause some problem because all the system is compiled with gcc 3.4.6,
any professional advice ? thanks in advance.

yes, don't do it.

but, of course, if you really want to, you can have more than one compiler installed on your system. just take care when installing to place it in a separate directory.

I don't think it would cause too many problems if you install gcc in a separate directory as erklaerbaer said.
