gcc upgrade in Slack 10.2 for wireless Belkin networking

I run a server on my Slack 10.2 pc running kernel 2.6.13. I'd like to move it into my cool basement during the summer using my wireless router. I just bought a Belkin F5D7001 version 1212 wireless 802.11 b/g PCI card and put it in my 32 bit slot. lspci shows:

Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 02)

I'm trying to get it working using the latest stable branch of ndiswrapper (May 6) but get this gcc error:

/home/huntz/belkin_card/ndiswrapper-1.16/driver/winnt_types.h:125:2: #error "gcc 3.4 or newer should be used for compiling this module"

I have gcc-3.3.6-i486-1.....how can I upgrade gcc without the kernel? Is there another way of getting the Belkin card working besides ndiswrapper in kernel 2.6.13?

If you go back to ndiswrapper 1.15 it will compile with gcc 3.3 and a 2.6 kernel. Or you could opt for an upgrade to slackware-current... but considering it is a server, I would stick with ndiswrapper 1.15 until Slackware 11.0 is released.

good idea-it seems to be compiling ok now. Belkin referred me to linuxant.com-great site and they got the card working with their driverloader...but I have to pay 20 more bucks after a month. Since Belkin recommends this to their customers who pay 50 plus dollars to buy their hardware, Belkin should then pay for the drivers (they're free for doze users of course). Belkin doesn't see it that way, so I'll try ndiswrapper instead. Just got to figure out how to remove driverloader now.

A precompiled package btw: http://www.slackware.com/~alien/slac...pper/pkg/10.2/
The SlackBuild script is available there, too.
