gcc 3.3.2 segfaults when compiling 2.4.23 kernel


anyone else facing this problem or did I just messed up my Makefile (playing with CFLAGS)?

i used gcc-3.3.1 and it compile fine

I don't think that the kernel sources using
some specific settings should be able to
cause a segfault. I'd rather assume that
either a) the compiler as such is faulty,
or b) you're facing a hardware problem
that only shows up in intense usage
situations ...

Just my 2 cents :)

gcc 3.3.1 compiled linux 2.4.23 fine here.

Try not messing that much with CFLAGS and see if it helps

I would just issue the make command again. Perhaps the CPU is overheating.

Yeah... my uncle tried his leet overclocking skillz on my box (asshole)... changed back to "normal" settings and it compiled fine.
