Gaim freezes when I try to IM somebody.

I'm using slackware 10 and I recently downloaded the new gaim 1.1.0. It installed just fine, but when I try to IM someone it freezes. I uninstalled the old gaim, that didnt help. I also tried to run it with -n but to no avail. I turned all my plugins off, but that didn't work either. Does anyone have this similar problem.

hi there,

yeap. i heard already something similar. try to disable the sound options in GAIM.
disable all sound events and try again to send an IM.
