Gaetway MC7801u; keyboard; touch media keys

My laptop has a few media touch buttons running along the outside of the keyboard, i just need, in the minimum, the play/stop/fastforward/backwards and the volume things to work.
i was told on IRC to run(before or after) dmesg and it would come up with some messages to help me. nothing came up.
any ideas ? i would relly like for those buttons/touch-keys to work.

Try running 'xev' and press those buttons, if they come up, write down the keycode.
