FTP package mirrors busy?

I'm trying to upgrade KDE on my Slackware box. I've tried using Swaret and Slapt-get, but I keep getting a lot of failed attempts to access the Slackware FTP mirrors. I'm wondering if the problem is at my end, or are the mirrors just really busy right now and I can't download what I want?

I did manage to download a couple of KDE packages, just not the all the packages that I require.

Yeah I'm getting the same thing, I think I'll leave it for tonight and try again tomorrow.

No is not you . Everytime there are major updates like that, we all seem to try to get them at the same time and the FTP servers get full. Last time I saw that happening was when KDE 3.2 first came out officially. Just keep trying.

Regards...

I use ftp://ftp.kpn.be which never seems to have problems.

The mirrors don't seem to be too bad now. I managed to upgrade KDE, and XFree. I tried updating the Gimp, and it downloaded the package. But when I try to run the Gimp now (or try to run X-Chat as well) I get an error:

Code:
xchat: relocation error: /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: pango_find_base_dir
gimp: relocation error: /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: pango_find_base_dir
Did something get overwritten that shouldn't have? How can I fix this? What package contains libgtk-x11-2.0.so?

Nevermind, fixed it. I had to download the pango-1.4.0-i486-1.tgz package and install it.

And now for my next question. . .I notice that Swaret and Slapt-get download packages to /var/swaret and /var/slapt-get respectively. Once those packages are installed can I delete all the *.tgz package files from /var/swaret and /var/slapt-get to clear out some room on my hard drive?

Yeah you could delete them if you wanted to, but I keep the latest ones to burn to CD every so often, especially for the bigger packages.
