Hi!
I running Slackware 12.0 with Dropline Gnome on my Acer Aspire 5100 laptop.
My problem is in order that Devanagari fonts (Hindi language) are not properly rendered in slackware unless I follow the instructions given at this site
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2002/10...onts_in_linux/
In the previous versions of slackware, I had to do this only once. But now I have to do it each time I log on. I have to log on in text mode, give the following command as su
Quote:
#cd freetype-2.3.0/ && /home/aditya/bin/start_freetype && exit && sudo /usr/sbin/gdm
|
where start_freetype is a script I wrote, the contents of which are -
Quote:
./configure
make
make install
./configure --prefix=/usr/X11R6/
make
make install
|
My question is why do I have to do this each time I log on. Is there a way out?
