Framebuffer Problems

Okay, when I installed Slackware 10 with its 2.4.26 kernel, the framebuffer console at 1078x728x256 worked perfectly (even the cute little penguin at the top of the screen). But now with the 2.6.8.1 kernel (and it happened with the 2.6.7 kernel), it won't work, even though I compiled it in. It just goes to a blank screen. I can hear it booting (and the drive light flashing) but I can't see anything. The only way it will work is with a 640x480 resolution. Can someone help me here? Oh, X works in the 1078x728 w/24 bit display.

I've pasted my lilo.conf so you all can look it over.

# LILO configuration file
# generated by 'liloconfig'
#
# Start LILO global section
boot="/dev/hdc"
#compact # faster, but won't work on all systems.

Recompile your kernel. You probably missed framebuffer and vga support.

Ive had problems with this as well.. I have read that you need to leave the option for the framebuffer graphics driver out.. and it will work... I read that a few months ago on a thread in this forum.
