Focus by default on password box in plasma-nm's "enter PPTP password" dialog window

Recently, I found that in the "enter your password" dialog, which is displayed by plasma-nm (KDE Network Manager applet) when user tries to connect using PPTP protocol, the focus is, by default, set on the OK button, not on the password textbox. This required me to move focus to the textbox before entering the password, every time when I tried to connect by PPTP, which I found to be an unacceptable amount of physical effort for me. This was also inconsistent with a similar dialog for OpenVPN connections, where focus, by default, is set on the password box.

To fix this, I created a tiny patch and a Slackbuild, which applies that patch to the version 0.9.6.3 of plasma-nm (the same version as one which is, at the moment, used by Slackware-current).

I thought that perhaps someone could find it useful - if so, you can find the mentioned Slackbuild in my GitLab repo (this also includes another patch used by plasma-nm from slackware-current):

https://gitlab.com/tomac/slackbuilds...ster/plasma-nm

It worked correctly for me on my local slackware64-current, both when building as root and as a user with fakeroot. However, if anyone decides to give it a try, please check the script before running it.

Thanks for your efforts on this, it's always nice to see people taking an interest in fixing the "paper cut" bugs in software - have you considered filing this on the plasma-nm bug tracker? It sounds like a genuine bug, and patching the code upstream makes it more likely that your fix will make it not only into Slackware (Pat's generally reluctant to patch stock packages without a really good reason), but also other distributions (which I imagine are encountering the same problem).

Yes, actually I put a pull request with this change on their GitHub repo a few days ago, just to realize today that I should have done this on their Reviewboard page We will see how it goes.

Just in case if anyone is interested in this change, it has been recently merged into branch 0.9.3 of plasma-nm (according to developer working on plasma-nm, this branch is unmaintained and no new releases of it are planned).

Slackbuild, which can be used to build this version of plasma-nm, can be found here:

https://gitlab.com/tomac/slackbuilds...a-nm/git-0.9.3

Two important things to note about this script:

* Apart from building package, it also downloads all required source files.
* The "*.po" localization files are not included with plasma-nm's source code on KDE git repository (I think they are stored in some another repository, but I couldn't find them), so the script also downloads a tarball for the last version released from 0.9.3 branch (that is, 0.9.3.6) and extracts "*.po" files from there.

The script worked for me, both when running as root and as a regular user with fakeroot, but, again, I recommend checking it before running - writing Slackbuilds is a NEW hobby of mine :-)
