fluxbox theme problem

Well i downloaded this fluxbox theme (Fluxaqua-1.4.tar.gz) but can`t get it working.

Can anyone tell me how can i do this:

"To use, simply extract /pixmaps/fluxaqua/ in ~/.fluxbox/ and place the /styles/FluxAqua file in ~/.fluxbox/styles/
You may have to change the extracted files' owners and permissions."

1 - how can i extract it ?( other than the usual tar zxvf *) in some specific file?

2 - Is Slackware 9.1 abble to work with this theme, or not ?

3 - changing files owners and permissions? I guess i am too lazy at that. Does it by any chance got something to do with "chmod" command or am i completely wrong?

thanks for any tip

hi there,

AFAIK slack 9.1 uses flux 0.1 series. As Pat V (Changelog) wrote and also as it is written in www.fluxbox.org this version is old and unmaitained.
probably you won't get all the ressources of your theme running it under flux 0.1X ..
the question number one i didn't get.
the question number 2 is fluxbox dependent. it is nothing to do with slackware
the question number three is called chown.

regards

yeah it means unzip it to that directory.
use gunzip, then tar to extract the .tar.gz file, then move the files where it told you.

you know, i just installed the most recent version of fluxbox and i seem to recall that it supports archived themes. i don't know whether this is a feature specific to the newer versions, but it's worth dropping the .tgz in the /themes directory and seeing if it works like that. takes up less space anyway right? (and i really hope i'm not confusing it with gkrellm skins...)
