Fluxbox and power manager...

I have slackware64 14.1. What's the power manager program to use for Fluxbox? My monitors keep turning off after 10 minutes.

I have tried xfce4-power-manager-settings and set the montior to sleep after 60 minutes, but no effect.

Presumably xfce4-power-manager-settings won't work if you aren't using xfce4-power-manager. I'm not sure that works anymore without xfce4 itself.

You can use the CLI programme xset to change it:

xset -dpms
xset s off

from memory, is that, so you might want to look at the manpage first, but I think that will disable screen blanking.

Cant you use xscreensaver? Try typing "xscreensaver-demo" at a prompt and check it out.

In addition to Stephen Morgan's advice regarding xset, check out this thread for a couple other xset options:

I've fussed with these issues in the past, and sometimes it's difficult to judge exactly which setting has which effect.

cheers,
