You don't need an account if you want to take the quiz. You do enter your name and your e-mail address (they send you the result) and they're trying to see that licensed organizations have looked at the videos and are aware of the changes (and the addition of the spreadsheets for easing the reporting requirements -- up until now it's all been on paper, multiple pieces of paper with multiple chances of screwing something up).
We have an account (all licensed organizations are required to have an account and report fiscal results quarterly). We can only buy the game tickets from licensed distributors and those come in boxes with a known number of winning tickets and the amount of the winnings. We pay up front for the tickets, we own and maintain the machines that dispense them, we collect the money, pay the winners. The state gets their money up front in the cost of the tickets, we get whatever is left over.
These games (along with Lotto) are popular with members and are a more-or-less painless way of fundraising that supports the charitable work licensed organizations do. We are non-profits and wind up giving most of the income away (the only person that gets paid is the secretary, who does a ton of paperwork, and he doesn't get paid much for his efforts -- everybody else is voluntary). We do have to, you know, pay for power, phones, internet, satellite TV, and all that (including property taxes, we ain't churches) and are fully supported by our membership. I'm a trustee and spend two days a week (at least) doing the games, cash register, cleaning the facility, building maintenance, plumbing and electrical, you name it, we do it. I do get paid, sorta, with two drink chips per day (and I'm not complaining, just sayin').
The above is just to say that if you want to take the quiz you're not going to get bombarded with SPAM, it's the state lottery commission, not some clowns trying to invade your machine.
All that being said, though, I'm still left with the conundrum of what to do with Flash Player and I'm mulling that over (leaning toward Chrome/Chromium). At the club all we have is Win7 boxes so folks that need to know the newer rules can watch the videos and keep up to date -- Adobe supports Winders (and Mac) versions of Flash Player so no problem there. I just need to figure out the easiest and least painful way for me to do this -- I happen to like Firefox and I don't particularly like Chrome all that much, no particular reasons, just don't really care for it.
Onward and upward.
