flash plugin with no sound

dear all,

i've just installed the macromedia flash plugin and install was successful, as i can now see flash pages.

however, i do not hear any sound of the plugin: i know some pages have flash video or 'noisy' animations, though i do not hear anything. my sound card works perfectly for all audio/video files on my computer.

...any ideas on what i am missing?

cheers,

aj

i have the same problem, im not exactly sure why it happens but it seems either flash and alsa dont get along very well, or they may not like your soundcard. if you have any other programs running that are using the soundcard try closing those first and try again, if you still get nothing then a quick work around is when starting your browser add "aoss" before the comand. so if lets say you use firefox, instead of just running the command "/usr/bin/firefox" change it to "aoss /usr/bin/firefox". that should give you audio in flash.

I fixed it once by doing:
chmod 777 /dev/dsp*
then reboot.
