I am currently trying to install the firmware for my 2200 BG intel integrated card. The problem I am having though is that I dont know what to do with the firmware in fact. I put them in /etc/hotplug/firmware (or wherever you are supposed to for slackware) I think, but that didnt seem to work. Do I have to install the firmware or something? Or do I have to update the hotplug list? I tried to run /sbin/hotplug and that didnt work (I think it said that ocmmand did not exist). Does anybody know how to fix this?
I was wondering if you could suggest the location of the file that listst he programs that startup at boot so that I could check and see if hotlplug is started. But sicne I am quite a newbie to linux that the command you listed would add that automatically and I am jsut being stupid. Thanks again though for your helpful post.
I understand that the location of the firmware has changed in Slack 10.1, but should I have to modify any part fo the driver to know that the firmware is located in this different file?
