I replicated the crash turning off noscript, thanks _gin.

I tried rebuilding 43.0 and 43.0.1 but firefox still crashes opening http://www.onet.pl.

But firefox-44.0b1, built using the same SlackBuild, doesn't seem to crash.

It crashes for me as well but not when opening the pages but rather when closing the tab.
I can't remember when firefox last crashed for be before the last update but now it crashes many times a day and always on the same pages.

i used the binary package directly from mozilla and it works fine
somehow, there's a bit difference between firefox from Mozilla and the one compiled using SlackBuild

No issues here so far, both on 64 and 32bit Slackware-current.

I just updated my -current install and I too am seeing crashes with firefox. It crashes on any site that plays media (youtube, facebook). I assumed it was flash so I removed it, no improvement. I have tried with all plugins disabled, with no script enabled, all no luck. I guess I am stuck waiting for an update.

So I went all the way back to 24 from slackware 14.1 and everything seems to work. Are there any repositories where I can go back to 42? I tried building from source without much luck using the -current slackbuild.

Going back to 42 will not help you at all, so don't bother. Just install 43.0 with noscript addon and you're good to go.

Did you notice the following comments above?

You can make a Slackware package out of the binary that Mozilla offer, like so:

Code:
git clone https://gist.github.com/ruario/9672798 latest-ff
bash latest-ff/latest-firefox.sh
That script will fetch the latest binary package for your architecture and repackage it locally into Slackware package format.

Thank you ruario. I tried using the 43.0.1 with no luck, but I was able to revert back to 42.0 with your script. Everything is working better now. Hopefully FF gets sorted out in the next version.

also 43.0.2 built from source using the SlackBuild on slackware64-current crashes on http://www.onet.pl if you don't have NoScript active.

I guess (but it's just a guess) this happens when built from source on our platform and not with mozilla's binaries because mozilla's devs use a different compiler for their binaries.

in our case about:buildconfig shows

44.0bX (using 2 since yesterday) doesn't show such behaviour probably because has been patched for it (and they haven't backported the patch).

I experience the same issue with the mentioned website on 64-current. I've disabled all the add-ons with no luck. I'm running it on an i7 CPU.

Did you try using 43.0.1 via a package made by my repack script?
