firefox fonts lose thier shape in 10.1

i installed slack 10.1 today, and also installed firefox 1.0.1. i had been running firefox in slack 10 flawlessly, however in 10.1, the fonts will lost thier shape, such as lower cap letters will be different sizes...big s, little i, bigger z, smaller e. that kind of thing...it starts out ok, but after a few minutes, the fonts just sort of lose perspective. any ideas on how to fix this? i've searched and found nothing so far....

Did you install custom fonts in previous version of Slackware 10?

If yes, I strongly encourage you to do so. Grab the fonts from your windoze if you have that pseudo-os.

I had a prob with fonts under Firefox 1 also but couldn't find the fonts in my Win2k partition. Click on the following link to get the True Type fonts from The Linux Box. msttcorefonts.gz
