Question File Splitter for Slackware

Anybody used a file splitter in Slackware? I know this is no longer a popular software with the present use of USB memory sticks but unfortunately I still use floppies.

I can also google search but I think it is better if somebody who has experience on a particlar splitter can write his/her experiences here.

Thank you

man split
You can just cat the small files back together when you need the complete file again. . .

If you have a program capable of making RAR archives you can split. I could with WinRAR, anyway. I figure the same functionality would be there.

Yes I do have winrar and winzip(which has the spanning feature) but I am trying to migrate to linux.

I'll try the split later on.
