/fat-c permissions in fstab
 

how do I change my /fat-c permissions in fstab so that a normal user can read it? in order for me to see any files, I have to login as root. and I tried doing this:

chmod 666 /fat-c and it says, /fat-c is read-only!

Try adding "umask=0222" to the options part in the line for it in /etc/fstab.

Ops> Did you know that change permissions like this can tweak your system if no take enough care ?

Look at "Messed up my permissions" thread below, it is not fun for him :(
You just have to use the 'user' option in the line of your vfat mountpoint
