Fan running at high speed
 

I'm running Slackware 13 (x64) on a new Dell Optiplex 760. For some reason the fan seems to be running full one. Which is odd since I'm not doing anything with it as yet (working a migration, but not there yet.

FWIW, I'm running the generic smp kernel.

For a comparison, I booted to kubuntu 9.04 LiceCD and got the same results.

Any idea what's happening?

I believe the problem can be resolved by dropping a package into the Intel Management engine... not sure how you go about it though
