Extra lines

Hi,

On the first re-boot of a slackware install (no X install), I have extra lines on the console resulting that I never see what I'm typing. Any ideas ??

Thanks

Pat

Hi,

well, instead of having 25 lines on my screen I have about 35. So for example if I type a wrong username or password I have to hit enter a few times in order to see the error message.

#VESA framebuffer console @ 800X600X256
vga=771

do you think the penguin logo at the top left as something to do with that ???

Try vga=normal, or vga=ask then run lilo to take the change in account and reboot

Now if the problem persist, does the command : ' stty rows 20 ' fixes it ?

Thanks,

I should kick myself, I complety forgot to run lilo after changing lilo.conf yesterday so vga=771 was not in effect. Just by running lilo and re-booting fixed the problem.

thanks for your help

Pat
