No, you can't mount a blank CD-R :}

eroaster is -IMHO- a load of crap :}

Try xcdroast, k3b if it needs to be graphical...
Gtoaster or gcombust ...

Or just go with
mkisofs -J -R <directory(ies)/file(s)> | cdrecord -eject -dev=1,0,0 -speed=<YOUR BURNERS SPEED> -
man mkisofs
man cdrecord
for more details :}
