Check in your BIOS/UEFI if there's a way for the network interface to stay up. I'd search for "wake on LAN", "WOL", "power on by LAN" or something similar in the power management section.

Sorry, double post but I have been looking for this solution since last month and I am confused yet.

I am using kernel 3.10.17 and via-rhine module on my system. A simple question: I 'd like to have that NIC functionning during "SUSPEN/HIBERNATE". Is it possible?

I tried unless sucess edit:

#etc/pm/config.d/unload_modules
SUSPEND_MODULES="$SUSPEND_MODULES via-rhine"

Does anyone know a different quirk ?
