When Pat first mentioned the initrd above I wasn't sure whether he was being serious or not, because it just seemed like being awkward to the users for the sake of it, but on reflection, it's no different than the way any other modules that are needed for early boot are treated, so yes it's inkeeping and consistent will everything else, so I can support this.
P.S. Now I really am done. Honest!
