Error when trying to access cdrom

in several KDE 3.5.2 applications (KAudioCreator,KSCD, Noatun), I am having difficulty reading the cdrom drive. All apps give me a similar error:
Quote:
CDROM read or access error (or no audio disk in drive).
Please make sure you have access permissions to:
/dev/cdrom
I have altered my fstab with this entry:
Code:
/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom auto noauto,user,ro 0 0
Not sure what I'm missing..... I'm running Slack 10.2, Linux 2.6.13 and KDE 3.5.2
Thx.
