Error Messages when running winecfg

I've installed Wine 1.5.5 on a Fresh Slackware 14 (32 Bit) install, and when I run winecfg I get the following error messages:

Has anyone seen the same error messages?

What needs to be done to prevent the error messages?

Thanks.

guanx,
I installed prelink, rebuilt Wine, and still had the same errors.

I found this in the FAQ that allowed me to get TextBridge Classic 2.0 installed and running in Wine.

http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#head-b4e2...527dd0bd6ed9ac

Code:
10.10.2. preloader: Warning: failed to reserve range 00000000-60000000

or

10.10.3. winevdm: unable to exec '<APP NAME>': DOS memory range unavailable

This issue is being followed in bug 12516.

The cause is a Linux kernel setting. Run cat /proc/sys/vm/mmap_min_addr as root: if it does not equal 0 then
running sysctl -w vm.mmap_min_addr=0 as root can be used to temporarily fix the issue; to fix it permanently,
add the line vm.mmap_min_addr=0 to /etc/sysctl.conf. Please record if you do this alteration, as the area
line needs may change.

See PreloaderPageZeroProblem for more information.
Where is vm.mmap_min_addr set in Slackware 14 as there is no /etc/sysctl.conf?

Thanks.

Larry

You can just create the file ( /etc/sysctl.conf ) if it not exists. /etc/rc.d/rc.S sets that stuff up while booting.
