Error during KVM installation

I want to try out KVM but am having a problem building it. Using the packages at slackbuilds.org and my slackware -current machine, it's eding off like this:

Code:
  WARNING: Symbol version dump /usr/src/linux-2.6.35.7/Module.symvers
is missing; modules will have no dependencies and modversions.

  LD /tmp/SBo/kvm-88/kvm/kernel/x86/built-in.o
  CC [M] /tmp/SBo/kvm-88/kvm/kernel/x86/svm.o
cc1: fatal error: include/linux/autoconf.h: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.
make[4]: *** [/tmp/SBo/kvm-88/kvm/kernel/x86/svm.o] Error 1
make[3]: *** [/tmp/SBo/kvm-88/kvm/kernel/x86] Error 2
make[2]: *** [_module_/tmp/SBo/kvm-88/kvm/kernel] Error 2
make[1]: *** [all] Error 2
make: *** [kvm-kmod] Error 2
Does anybody know what the problem is here?

The preferred way is to install the qemu-kvm package and not the kvm package. Slackware already provides the kvm modules so no need to replace them with the much older versions in the kvm package.

Thanks, I've got qemu-kvm building now. I notice that there don't seem to be any recent tutorials online for installing and configuring kvm on a Slackware box; if I get it figured out and am successful I'll write one for my website. Will update...

Okay, it's installed, the kernel modules are loaded... now I gotta figure out how to use this blasted thing. I'm doing some Google searching, but pointers are welcome.
