I read someowhere this is due to lack of gdbm-devel package ... though I have regular gdbm package installed and haven't found any gdbm-devel pacckage for slackware ...

any one could point me in the right direction ???

thanks

Hi,

Thanks but actually I did follow your suggestion , and I Build libmcrypt and mcrypt that way ,the problem here is a bit different than yours though .. I m not able to recompile php even if I remove the mcrypt extension from the SlackBuild .. the same problema arise.

So the problem is not from recompiling with mcrypt is with recompiling it ;-) .

At the moment my LAMP does work I just would like to get rid if that message on phpmyAdmin I even found a php package build with mcrypt in this forum. Though if I m not able to build it myself and tomorrow I need to enable another extension I ll be at the start line again ;-P

any other insight ??

thanks

P.S. as more info I m running slack 12.2 with non standard package selection and kernel 2.6.28.5
