Question Error: could not open default font 'fixed'

I installed slackware 9 and after installing i get this error:

Fatal server error:
could not open default font 'fixed'

my log file shows this Warnings:

(WW) `fonts.dir' not found (or not valid) in "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/".
Entry deleted from font path.
(Run 'mkfontdir' on "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/").
(WW) Open APM failed (/dev/apm_bios) (No such device)

I checked the path and saw that there are really no path like this. I can't understand this. I installed all packages and it's a new installation.

I hope you can help me

I posted the same problem once. Nothing seemed to fix it, but try restart the XFontServer, or re-installing XFree86.
I resorted to re-installing. Check you install media is not corrupt from download or burning.
