error after compilling kernel

I'm using kernel 2.4.20. The first kernel-image I have created works fine.
Then I tryied to compile the kernel adding some network options. When computer rebbots, I receive some errors:

insmod: /lib/modules/kernel/drivers/char/i810_rng.o.gz: init_module: No such device

insmod: /lib/modules/kernel/drivers/char/i810_rng.o.gz: Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrevt module parametres, incluging invalid IO or IRQ parametres

/lib/modules/kernel/drivers/char/i810_rng.o.gz: insmod /lib/modules/kernel/drivers/char/i810_rng.o.gz failed

FInally I receive
usb.c:registered new driver usbdevfs
usb.c:registered new driver hub
and then screen freezes and needs reboot
========================

What I don't undersand is that when I boot (Lilo) using the first (correct) kernel, I see that receive that messages again, but there is no problem and finaly asks usernam/password.

The changes I made using make menuconfig where irrelevant with usb devices...

you have to disable hotplug when compiling the kernel as this is what is causing it to crash ..
or just this to the /etc/hotplug/blacklist :
Code:
# This module causes many Intel motherboards to crash and reboot.
i810-tco
i810_rng
also search the fourms as this was answered many times also
