Eric IDE on Slack 12.0

Does anyone have experience installing Eric 4.0.1 (or any other 4x version) on Slackware 12.0? Im about to hang myself trying to match up versions...

Slack 12 comes with QT 3.whatever and Eric 4 needs QT4 with Scintilla(which doesnt come with 12.0 at all), so hmmmm

anyone?

ben

I believe that the answer is on their home page:

"For Qt3 based systems eric3 is still available."

The next alternative would be to forfeit all KDE support
and install Qt4 ... (just kidding, you should actually be
able to compile & install Qt4 yourself in parallel to the
existing version - just make sure the right apps see the
right version)....

Cheers,
Tink

yeah i read that answer too, but Eric 4.0.1 is the goal here.

Update: got Qt4 installed alongside Qt3 along with all the latest of sip, qscintilla, pyqt, but...

alas, eric segfaults when running "python install.py"
