Enlightenment DR 17 CVS Problems Backgrounds?

I recently installed Enlightenment DR17 CVS from LP.net and I downloaded a bunch of backgrounds to use. I found out that they have to be converted to some .edj format. Something like that..... But also there is e17setroot -s /path/to/background. Mine doesn't work. here it the output

e17setroot -s .e/e/backgrounds/Zelda_Twlight.jpg
e17setroot: symbol lookup error: e17setroot: undefined symbol: e_init

Anyone know a solution??

Hi,

I just got Enlightenment working today myself, using the CVS sources. I've not tried a jpg or png background, but used the ones from www.get-e.org ,there's even an animated background!

You need to use the syntax: enlightenment_remote -desktop-bg-add 0 0 0 0 /root/e17_bg_sunbeams.edj

Hope this helps, I'll have a play around with e17setroot tomorrow and keep you informed,

UPDATE:

If you try: e17setroot -s /root/image08.jpg it will create the file image08.edj in
/root/.e/e/backgrounds

You can then use enlightenment_remote -desktop-bg-add 0 0 0 0 /root/.e/e/backgrounds/image08.edj to get it on your desktop.

Use 0 0 1 0 for desktop 2, 0 0 2 0 for desktop 3 etc,

Yeah the thing is my e17setroot doesnt work so I cant change the files to the .edj format.
