Hi everyone, I have noticed with a few distros, that when booting they have a picture with a transparent box containing all the usual text seen when booting. I was just wondering, is there a way to achieve this effect with Slackware, and if so, how?
Did you mean that you got it to work? I had a lot of problems enabling bootsplash with a 2.6.18 and 2.6.19 kernel, so i'm using vesafb now (i've read somewhere that it seems to have a better support for newer kernels)
Yes I got it to work, i am sorry but I do not know anything about the 2.6 kernel, so i am afraid I cannot help you. the instructions on bootsplash.org are quite straightforward though, except when you are installing the splash utility (the locations are different to those shown, perhaps they used an older version). Only thing I didn't find on there was how to compile your kernel.
Sorry I couldn't help you, but I hope you get it sorted.
