enable back fortune cookies in slack 9.1

Hello there, i have slack 9.1 running under xfce4, well the fact is when i upgrade my kde 3.1.4 to kde 3.2.1 i didn't have more funny fortune cookies messages in any of my terminal shells as an user. instead if i log in as root i do saw the fortune cookies message in any shell terminal, but i want to see it like a user too, just like it was when i install slack the first time. i do in a terminal being a user the command fortune, and i get the funny message of fortune cookie, but i don't get it when i open a shell as a user. how do i enable it back so every time i open a terminal as an user i saw the fortune message.

Try to removepkg and installpkg the bsd-games packages. Everything should work as normal as usual. If not post back Maybe you have been editing your /etc/rc.d/ files?

login shell

It seems as if it is not running the login files (profile).

If you are using konsole (the default KDE terminal), right-click in the terminal and choose Settings->Configure Konsole. In the session tab, make sure the Execute line reads "bash -l". (that's a lowercase L).

If you are running rxvt or xterm, make sure "-ls" is on the command line in the appropriate desktop file (most easily edited with the menu editor). This also works with konsole, but it needs a double dash, "--ls".

Please let me know if this solved your problem.

/Odie
