I really am curious about this... It is a port of Gentoo's emerge for Slackware 9.1 / current. I haven't tried it, mostly do to bandwidth limitations here... but I am curious... like where is the Emerde getting its packages/software etc???? Is it grabbing the software from the Gentoo software repository and then compiling locally?
No.. swaret installs precompiled packages from Slackware mirrors. Emerde should download and compile the software you want (and the dependencies).. but I didn't used it (or portage), just wanted some feedback.
No sense of humor DarkSpy?
Surely, those comments don't hurt...

I've been posting my progress on linuxiso.org forum, working pretty good right now, still testing. I'm on a test machine so who cares if I break it right?
