eeepc900 not wake up from suspend to ram anymore

Hello
Encounter a strange problem:
hardware is asus eeepc 900 netbook ( celeron 900 mhz, 1 Gb RAM, 16 Gb ssd on ide (internal).
have installed slackware 13.1 on second partition of ssd, and when i close lid, it go to suspend to ram, when i open lid and touch a Fn or F1 key, it wakes up. it all work very good without any problems.
some time ago i purchase 2GB RAM module, and swap (that machine supports max 2 gb, and have only one memory slot). all works without any problems ( until yesterday i do not put netbook to sleep ), but yesterday i close lid -and netbook going to sleep, as always.

but when i open lid and touch a key, "on" and blue "wifi" led switch on, but nothing another changes - screen is absolute black, any indicators not activity, short press on "on / off" switch do nothing. also touching any keys do nothing. i try it many times - always get the same. after that i turn it off only if long press off button - then netbook switched off.

i also boot from external hdd with some time ago installed slackware 14.0 - and got same result with trying to suspend to ram - it suspends but not normally wake up.

Hello WiseDraco,

I don't know if I think in the right direction. I've read that "suspend to RAM" also needs swapspace. For hibernate it is clear that the RAM is written to the swapspace and it is recommended to have twice of the amount of RAM as swapspace. But as I wrote above I'm not sure about suspend to RAM.

So you write that you've increased your amount of RAM. Did you change the swapsize? how much of swap did you have before and after increasing the RAM?

i not have swap - not when i have 1 gb ram, not now. as i understand, swapspace need for suspend-to-disk, not for suspend-to-ram.

New data- today i boots my other installed on my eeepc 900 OS - winxp ( comes with that eeepc on purchase, oficially), look to properties, see a "when lid closed" action is "suspend", and close the lid. as in linux, it got to sleep - all indicators except "power" turn out, "power starts to blink" - as usually. but then i open lid and try to awake - and got that same, as in linux - power on stop to blink and light on permanently, wifi indicator also turn on and light blue, but nothing elso do - like is on linux. looks like BIOS problems?
but i have latest BIOS - 1006, "firmware 089". looks at asus site for bioses - not found newer :(
do not think, what to do.
suspend to ram feature is very useless with that small netbook, but now it likes to had gone. i can choice between 1 gb ram and working suspend, and 2 gb ram without suspend...sadly.

swapped upgraded kingston 2 Gb RAM module from my eeepc 900 with wife's eeepc 1000H. there it works ok - suspend to ram and awake in her slackware 14 works good. put original ADATA 1 Gb RAM module from her 1000H to my eeepc 900, and now my eeepc900 again awake ok from suspend to ram. looks like, i decide remain in that - my 2 Gb module use wife in his eeepc 1000h, and i use 1 Gb module in my eeepc900, and we both have working suspend to ram function.
