Easy way to find dependent libs?

Hi everyone I was just wondering if there is any centralised site where I could download just about any lib file?? At the moment for example I installed mplayer from linuxpackages and it needs one lib then another and its really hard to find them.

At the moment I only seem to be able to get them from rpms I download.

linuxpackages.net

it either has links to the libs, or it already has them preinstalled in the apps .
