You need to give us a clue

What version of Slackware are you using? Are you aware that Slackware doesn't automagically mount a data cd or play a music cd? Are you doing anything besides inserting the media?
Regards,
Bill

well then, why not mount them and look inside. They are probably /dev/hdc and /dev/hdd.

Code:
# mounting /dev/hdc to /mnt/tmp
mount /dev/hdc /mnt/tmp
# unmounting
umount /dev/hdc
And read the slackware book ... especially the part on mounting.

Since you have Slack 11.0, the directories /media/dvd0 and /media/dvd1 should exist. If not, create them. After that, add the following lines to /etc/fstab:

Code:
/dev/hda   /media/dvd0   iso9660  noauto,user,ro     0   0
/dev/hdb   /media/dvd1   iso9660  noauto,user,ro     0   0
Now you can mount/unmount from the command line:
Code:
mount /media/dvd0
umount /media/dvd0
Also, you can add a desktop icon (if you're using KDE):
Right click on Desktop
-> Create New
-> Link to Device
-> DVD-ROM Device
Name it whatever you want (the default is probably good).
Click on the Device tab, and then select "/dev/hda (/media/dvd0)" from the drop down list.
Click on OK
Repeat for your second drive.
(Single) Clicking on the icon will mount the dvd and open up konqueror so you can browse the contents.
When you're done, close the browser, right click on the icon, and select unmount. The icon should change to reflect that it's now unmounted.

Edit: And like H_TeXMeX_H said, read the slackware book. Good stuff.

The advice that H_TeXMeX_H & drumz have given you is good, use it. I understand that if you are a new Slackware user, you may expect media to be mounted when you insert it, but it just doesn't happen in normal Slackware. That can be changed in several ways, however. If you are interested in Gnome, Dropline Gnome will automagically mount media for you. I am using it now & have been quite pleased with it. I also use krusader as my file manager & it has a button for mounting items in the fstab. I use it for HDD partitions that I want to mount/umount.
Regards,
Bill
