DVB-C Reception

Want to let whoever is interested know that the TBS6618 DVB-C card (PCI express) is working flawless under Slackware 14.0
Precondition : Instal the driver as is described on

http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/TB...r_CI_PCIe_Card

Also install Kaffeine under KDE. Kaffeine has a digital TV reception option
It is working great and the picture quality is under Slackware better then under Windows !!

The card has a CI interface, so you can put a card in there
Look for the specifications on the manufacturers site :

http://www.tbsdtv.com/products/tbs66...pcie-card.html

However note that it does not support the CI+ standard.
I do not use the CI interface since I have a direct fiber optic connection to my provider and thus there is no need to scramble
So I did not test it with the CI interface.

In addition to my previous answer :

I understand that SKY in the UK doen not come via cable ? (DVB-C)
So if you are receiveing SKY via Satelite you will need a DVB-S card instead of a DVB-C one
