Dual booting w/GRUB - setting console resolution?

I am setting up a dual boot machine for someone and it is dual booting both Slackware 12.1 & Ubuntu 8.04.

I have it setup using GRUB doing the dual booting fine.

My problem is the console resolution in slackware. It's is currently set to around 800x???. I'd prefer to have it at the 1024x768 I normally run it at on a standalone Slackware install.

I typically set that up in the lilo config, but since I am using GRUB on this install I am not sure how to adjust it?

I am assuming there is a line I need to add to the slackware section in my GRUB menu file?

Anyone have any idea's? I am used to lilos simplicity...

Thanks

I keep the following reference chart embedded in my grub menu.lst:

Code:
# vga=xxx sets the framebuffer console to a specific resolution.
# Here is a table you can use so it can help you decide
# what resolution you want to use:
# colour depth | 640x480 800x600 1024x768 1280x1024
# 256 (8bit) | 769 771 773 775
# 32000 (15bit) | 784 787 790 793
# 65000 (16bit) | 785 788 791 794
# 16.7 Mil (24bit) | 786 789 792 795

# FRAMEBUFFER RESOLUTION SETTINGS
# +-------------------------------------------------+
# | 640x480 800x600 1024x768 1280x1024
# ----+--------------------------------------------
# 256 | 0x301=769 0x303=771 0x305=773 0x307=775
# 32K | 0x310=784 0x313=787 0x316=790 0x319=793
# 64K | 0x311=785 0x314=788 0x317=791 0x31A=794
# 16M | 0x312=786 0x315=789 0x318=792 0x31B=795
# +-------------------------------------------------+
This is my default boot option:

title Slackware 12.1 - 2.6.24.5-smp - Init 3
kernel (hd0,0)/vmlinuz-2.6.24.5-smp-5 root=/dev/hda10 ro init 3 vga=771 quiet

I hope that helps.

If you already have Slackware installed this won't help you, but ...

With grub installed to your MBR and Slackware's lilo installed to the Slackware partition, chain load Slackware from grub:

Code:
title Slackware 12.1
     root (hd0,3)
     rootnoverify (hd0,3)
     chainloader +1
This boots grub, then you select Slackware and lilo boots from the Slackware partition. Just change the values in my example to fit your partitions.

Thanks for the responses guys...

I just added the "vga=" line to my config and seems to have resolved the issue.

Thanks again.
