dual boot xp/slackware vfs cant mount

yeha have a dual boot xp/slackware 10 and i had a few dramas with my computer like woundt start and all this but when i got it fixed it wont boot my slackware os just comes up with unable to mount fs and says kernel panic but my xp os boots fine any idears on how to fix this problem or just reinstall slackware thing is i love slackware to death cause ive been through all the distros and allways come back to slack so id really like to rescue my system cause i hav it setup the way i want it finally so any help be great guys

Start at the beginning, do you have the boot loader for slack configured properly (right HD, partition, kernel, etc...)?
