DSL not working

Hey Guys, got another question here ... i finally got my 2.6.1 kernel installation done after a lot of headbanging against the monitor but now i have another prob. Since the upgrade I cannot connect to the net. If i ping myself or another computer in a different room that is successful, but when i use adsl-start to try and connect it just times out. Any idea on how i can fix this? I have made sure the settings for my ISP are correct so now i am at a dead end.

step by step...

1. if you are using adsl-start i suppose that you ran adsl-setup.. Are you using the adsl config files generated from your old kernel? i mean, when everything was ok...
2. save those files and run adsl-setup again, if you did not..
3. are you sure that you included ppp suport in your new kernel... if you made make menuconfig without using an old .config file,it is possible that ppp is not included ....

Cheers mate you're a star .. i went back and recompiled the kernel and noticed that ppp was not checked. My first successful kernel upgrade
