I installed the 64bit version on clean Slackware and I can confirm that Rhythmbox crashes with segmentation fault by opening the settings. From dmesg:
Code:
rhythmbox[2191] general protection ip:7f5fd2417184 sp:7fff10b53500 error:0 in libgstreamer-0.10.so.0.30.0[7f5fd23e9000+ae000]
And from Gnome Fallback when I try to open Places > Home (or Desktop, Computer) it opens Audacious.

Yeah, rhythmbox has some problem. It crashes also with segmentation fault by an audio-cd inserting. it should be correctable.

It is probably because you have an old DroplineFiles3.6 file somewhere. this package was removed from there, so installer should not ask you for that. Try to re-run the installer.

I thought GNOME 3.6 didn't work without systemd but i see no systemd packages in the dropline files list.

This patch might help with gstreamer errors along with disabling webkit in the configure stage if webkit is compiled with gst 1.0 support.
BTW rhythmbox 2.98 still uses gst 0.10.

Hi sahko, no systemd for now is only an option, not forced yet, so we opt to not to use it. Who knows in the future releases ?

As for the rhythmbox patch, many thanks, we will tak a look at it for sure.

I think for gnome 3.8 logind is used instead of consolekit. I remember reading a changelog of a recent dev gnome version that said that.
