dropline

ok so i installed dropline gnome on my slackware box. it is up and running but i dont know... there is something about it that im just not feeling. what i was thinking is i would replace metacity with fluxbox. ive done this in the past on ubuntu but that was just following howtos... never really learning anything, just copying commands.

what i would like to do is create a new session just so if something doesnt work out or whatever i can still go back to dropline or flux if i wanted to. im not sure where to start though... anyone have any ideas?

thanks.

ok so i found how to do it here...

the syntax of the line you have to edit is a little different for slackware but still obvious. the only thing i need to know now is how to get nautilus to stop drawing the desktop.

oh and if i disable nautilus drawing the desktop what do i lose from gnome? i would assume the gnome r-click menu but i would gain the flux one so no big deal. and i would lose the desktop icons, again, no big deal. i do have some nautilus scripts though. would i still be able to use them from within nautilus or is the r-click gnome menu going to be disabled entirely?

i dont know... i guess ill have to wait and see.
