Downloading 2.60.20.6 kernel - which file to download?

I want to upgrade the kernel from 2.4 on my Slackware 11 install. I've never done this and want to verify I am downloading the correct file. On kernel.org, there are many links (F, V, VI, C, Changelog). I am assuming I need to download the "F" link since the filename does not include the word "patch". Does anyone know what these different options mean, and is F the correct choice?

Seems correct (I always download via ftp directly, so all I can say is that the file linked under "F" is what you want to get ).

Check the kernel compile link in my sig. Looks like you'll be needing much more help if you can't even find the kernel source ... the guide is very comprehensive.

Hi overlook1977

I would suggest to stick to the official Slackware packages and avoid kernel.org for now.

installpkg as root all the tgz files and run lilo

props

FYI, I found what the other links meant:

F = full source, V = view patch, VI = view incremental, C = current changesets
