Download a 'gnu parted' root image?

Hello

I want to resize two ext3 partitions on my HD without losing any of the data on them. I have Slackware 8.1.

I decided to try gnu 'parted'. Is this doomed to failure from the start? If not...

The 'parted' boot disk files on the gnu ftp site are still being verified and therefore not available. I found a recent version of 'parted' from a source other than the gnu ftp site but I cannot find a root disk image.

I have 'parted 1.6.6' installed and it appears to work but I cannot carry out operations on a mounted drive.

Does anyone know where I can find a 'parted' boot disk image file with which to create a bootable floppy? I don't have other machines to run 'parted' on and do it that way.

Is it possible to boot with some other floppy, run 'parted' from the HD, then unmount the HD?

Ropsa.

Me too

I am also trying to find good step by step instructions for using GNU parted on a hard drive. Any helpful reply to this thread would be appreciated.
