2)Another question is what is broadcast address.
Anyone can correct me if im wrong, cuz im just going off memory here but im pretty sure a broadcast address is where when you send your info across a network that it is sent everyone, and whoever is setup to accept it can take it.
i searched the wiki, it has a more correct way of saying it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadcast_address
i have no knowledge of ip addresses i.e what is class A,b and c etc etc and what is a subnet.
Lets start with, http://www.subnet-calculator.com/
explains more on the different classes
a subnet consists of a class a, b or c submask.
a = really large network.
b = large network.
c = regular network.
Use the subnet calculator and play around with different submasks to get a feel of how large you could make a network.
i think the only reason why you would subnet, ie 10.1.0.0/255.255.255.248 gives us 6 usable ips, first and last are subnet id and broadcast address, you could use those to separate them from the rest of the network so no one on the other subnet can see them.
Just remember, GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND. GIYF!
anyone feel free to add and or correct me if i made a mistake anywhere.
