Does anyone have ampache working on 13.1 or -current?

I'm admittedly ignorant when it comes to the finer working of apache and web servers in general, but I have apache running just fine and have a personal site to make a number of files and directories available to me where ever I may be. I've been trying to get ampache going however and I can't even get the basic dependency test to load (see here). It seems like it should be straightforward enough: extract the tarball to /var/www/htdocs and go to the page. I simply get a mangled view of one of the script's source. I'm not sure if this is a version problem, an instruction problem, or (most likely) PEBKAC. The only instructions I find specific to Slackware deal with Slackware 10 and even include installing apache, but I'm even too dense on the subject to figure out what does and doesn't apply between versions. Is there someone here that has this working to at least let me know that I'm just an idiot and need to start over? I really hope I don't have to just default everything because at this point I do have at least my files being served up very nicely.

TIA
8^)

Working here fine, but you might want to try Jinzora which also does the same and sets up easily.

That almost sounds like you don't have PHP enabled for Apache. Did you uncomment the PHP line in httpd.conf? For what it is worth I've got Ampache running on a 13.0 box, but I haven't upgraded it to 13.1.

Yes I uncommented it, but I failed to take notes and I remember doing something more than simply uncommenting it when I made my first attempt. It's likely that I'll go back to the original httpd.conf or possibly just reinstall the apache and php packages and start fresh. I don't think there's anything that I've done that I won't be able to redo and doing things over is a good way to learn so that makes the most sense. I'll post back when I have the chance to do these things. Thanks for the responses.

Ok, I've managed to get to the dependency checklist page, and everything is fine. Now I'm unable to get mysql to allow me to create/connect to databases. I'm following this
Quote:

Now from the MysqL INSTALL file:

groupadd mysql
useradd -g mysql mysql
scripts/mysql_install_db --user=mysql
chown -R root *
chown -R mysql data
chgrp -R mysql *
bin/mysqld_safe --user=mysql &

Good instructions, but there seems to be a default password for the mysql root user? Anybody have any idea what that is?

Ok, I got it. There is something very weird about mysql on my system. I ultimately had to uninstall mysql and delete all files associated with it that remained, then reinstall and I was able to get it all going from there. The iampache iphone app is pretty sweet.

For those of us of the Android persuasion, Amdroid works very nicely.

Does amdroid allow for streaming over 3g? I really dislike the way I'm restricted by the whole AT&T, limited feature bs.

Oh yes it does. I usually use Amdroid to listen to stuff in my car. It can be a little touchy if the 3G connection drops, but by and large it works well. I'm on Verizon by the way, not that they're really much better than AT&T.
