dmesg error


the following error appears at random - justs happens but not every time i reboot
the pc .

and when i get into the console and type startx

My network card is sis not Realtek and in the kernel configuration none of realtek
options are selected

First, what kernel do you run (uname -r) ?

(search for [PATCH] sis900 kernel oops fix in the changelog)

For X, try recompile your kernel with IP V6 support or try
startx -- -nolisten tcp

So try upgrade your kernel for the sis900 oopss issue

would it make sense for him to compile the kernel with IPv6 support if he doesn't intend to use it? It seems useless if that renders his network card useless on a typical tcp protocol system.
