Dlink lan card problem


hi every body
i had bought a new lan card to solve the problem of realteck card
it is written on the hardware Dlink
when i put it on my slack 12
it worked fine
but when i wrote lspci i was surprised
it shows

Because that's the chipset that it uses. It is a D-Link brand, but VIA chipset. All D-Link did to the card AFAIK, is basically the wiring.

i am sorry i don't understand
if it is Dlink card why doesn't lspci commend told me that it is Dlink??
how can i make sure if it is Dlink card or fake card???

The card brand is very different from the card chipset. The chipset in this case is made by VIA, but the brand is D-link. Also, I don't think you'll ever see a d-link chipset, because d-link doesn't make them, it hires others to make them, and they just make the rest of the card.

Your card is NOT fake.
